What is Network Security?
Network security is a broad term that covers a multitude of technologies, devices, and processes. Network security is the practice of setting rules and configurations designed to protect the integrity, confidentiality and accessibility of computer networks and data using both software and hardware technologies. This prevents and protects against unauthorized intrusion into corporate networks.
Why is Network Security important in business?
Today’s network architecture is complex and is faced with a threat environment that is always changing and attackers that are always trying to find and exploit vulnerabilities. Network security combines multiple layers of defenses at the edge and in the network. Each network security layer implements policies and controls. Authorized users gain access to network resources, but malicious actors are blocked from carrying out exploits and threats.
Network Security Overview
This course will prepare participants with the skills needed to work in the network security industry. Understanding the different types of network security; firewalls, email security, anti-virus and anti-malware software, access control, application security, cloud security, data loss prevention, intrusion preventions systems, mobile device security, VPN and much more. Participants will be educated in implementation, detection and in defense in depth strategy.
